Tithing

Sending tithe automatically via your bank’s online bill payment functionality

Several members of First R.P. Church are using (and have been doing so for several years) their bank’s “online bill pay” tool to pay and mail their tithe/offering check to First R.P. Church for them.

By using your bank’s “online bill pay” tool, this relieves you of the burden of accidentally forgetting to write your tithe/offering checks; and you can align your tithe payments to line up with the receipt of your paychecks/income…you are giving from your “first fruits.” Several members have already proven this helpful tool to work well.

Since each bank is different and each bank’s “online bill pay” tool is slightly different, the Deacon board cannot provide a How-To document which is applicable for each and every bank. Rather, we can offer an example and you would need to modify where applicable. The basic steps are to 1) setup “First R.P. Church” as a payee, and 2) then setup a recurring payment to the new payee (“First R.P. Church”). Please submit technical questions to your bank rather than the deacon board.

If you use PNC as your bank, you would login to the PNC website and then setup a recurring payment as follows:

1a) SETUP PAYEE: First you would create “First R.P. Church” as a payee.

1b) SETUP PAYEE: First you would create “First R.P. Church” as a payee.

1c) SETUP PAYEE: First you would create “First R.P. Church” as a payee.

1d) SETUP PAYEE: First you would create “First R.P. Church” as a payee.

2a) SCHEDULE PAYMENT: Second you would schedule the recurring payment. Be sure to schedule the delivery date for Wednesday or Thursday so that it arrives in plenty of time to make it into the offering plate on the Lord’s Day.

2b) SCHEDULE PAYMENT: Second you would schedule the recurring payment. Be sure to schedule the delivery date for Wednesday or Thursday so that it arrives in plenty of time to make it into the offering plate on the Lord’s Day.
